Business Development co-organized ‘NanoRegen Mission 2012’
On 05 September 2012 a meeting initiated by the UK Knowledge Transfer Network Nanotechnology between Small and Medium Sized Enterprises (SMEs) from the United Kingdom and counterparts from Academia and Industry of the Berlin-Brandenburg area was organized as a joint effort by BioTop (www.biotop.de) and the Berlin-Brandenburg Centre for Regenerative Therapies (BCRT) (www.b-crt.de).
The “NanoRegen Mission2012” is based on an initiative of the UK Technology Strategy Board (www.innovateuk.org) to support the initiation of new international co-operations with British SME’s.
More than 60 attendees followed the invitation to the meeting that was hosted by the British Embassy in Berlin. The opening was done by Simon McDonald, the British Ambassador in Germany. The British mission leader, Dr. Chris Mason, presented his actual global data on regenerative medicine. The local activities in this medical area were summarized by Dr. Kai Bindseil (Director BioTop & Cluster Manager Cluster HealthCapital Berlin-Brandenburg ), followed by an overview on the BCRT given by Dr. Frank-Roman Lauter, Head of Business Development of the BCRT, who is also Spokesman of the German-Californian RegMed Initiative and Secretary General of 'The Regenerative Medicine Coalition'.
Presentations from the British Delegates and local German Representatives built the basis for a subsequent discussion on connecting working areas and potential co-operation possibilities between the UK and Germany.
